Men’s Golf Group -- Leaders, Chance Strickland & Doug Greer

Meets the 2nd Monday of the Month

The Men’s Golf Group meets monthly and plays 9 holes at Montgomery Bell Golf Course. We stagger the format to allow for fast play and competitiveness even for beginning golfers or those who do not play regularly. The goal is to finish the round within 90 minutes and then meet on the back deck of the pro shop for a bible study and prayer time (about 30 mins). The entire evening should take about 2 hours (i.e. 4-6pm or 5-7pm). We will adjust the start time based on the sunset while trying to do it as late as possible so you can get there from work. For those wishing to only attend the Bible study portion you can plan to arrive 90 minutes after the start time (5pm tee off = 6:30pm bible study). Should the weather prohibit a round we will still have bible study at another location.

Meets on the 4th Monday of the month

The Men’s Walk & Disc Golf Group meets monthly at Burns Park in Kingston Springs. This group begins with prayer, then some will walk laps or jog while others play a round of disc golf. Once the activity is complete bible study is held at a picnic area or in the activity building if needed. The start time will adjust based on sunset, but we will try to start as late as possible to allow you time to get there from work. Should the weather prevent outdoor activity we will meet at the activity center or the church building for bible study and prayer.

FAQ

We are shooting for Mondays after work. Based off the group and the availability of the location that may change from time to time. The group leaders will communicate with you on those specifics through the app or via text/email. The group leader contact information is included here, feel free to reach out to them and let them know of your interest.

Each of these gatherings will be formatted so that you can still just attend the Bible study portion if you’d like. For example, if we are going to play golf at 5:00 pm on a Monday, we will also shoot to have our bible study and prayer time on the back deck of the pro shop around 6:30 pm. It is fine for those who do not want to play golf to just show up at 6:30 pm for the study time.

We can assist as needed. Also, while greens fees, ammo, etc. do cost — it costs nothing to attend the Bible study portion.

You can attend as many of these times as you would like! We would like to see every man at HBC participate in at least 1 of these groups and connect with other men of our church at least once per month. (That’s only 12 times a year…)
