Genesis 18:19 “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment;”
What a thing to be said about someone. What a thing for GOD to say this about someone! Abraham was living in wicked times. These verses precede the demise of Sodom and Gomorrah, yet, God is confident in Abraham and his character. It is evident that our nation is in moral decline, but that does not have to be the theme of the Christian. That does not have to be the theme of your home. The darker the night, the brighter the Light can (and should) shine! Families, we should make this our goal in life. Fathers, this should be the way we lead our households. God says that he knows what Abraham will do-Abraham will teach his children. This coming from the one who knows our own heart-can this be said of you this morning? Of me? Does God know us? Of course, He knows who we are, but can He count on you to lead your family to keep the way of the Lord? Let us stand as Joshua and say “as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
