Solomon used stone for his foundation. 70,000 move the stone. 80,000 removed the stone from the mountains. 3,300 looked over those working on the stone. These were great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones.
These stones were just for the foundation. The foundation would mostly if not all be covered under ground. Why not just use the easiest to acquire that would do the job? Isn’t it wasteful to use these costly stones in a place they would never be seen?
Solomon wanted to do things right. No matter the cost, no matter how long it took, this was a project unto God and Solomon gave it his best. Colossians 3:23, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”
Do things right.
Everything we do should be done right.
